The model represents the equipment state of April 1945, when the ship left the port with a small escort fleet to fight a hopeless battle to defend Okinawa against the US fleet. The Yamato was the largest battleship ever built, displacing over 72,000 tons and its main artillery consisted of nine 46cm guns (18 inch)
